Therapy can help with a wide range of personal and emotional issues that we face.  Common themes that come up are:

RELATIONSHIP BREAKDOWN can have a big impact on mental health.  If you are struggling with a partner, sibling, child, parent or friend, talking through the issues can help you gain some perspective.

GRIEF follows the loss of someone or the end of something significant and can be overwhelming.  There are many responses to a loss - shock, numbness, anger, emptiness.  Therapy can help you to process your emotions.

DEPRESSION can last for long periods of time or can come and go. Crying, feeling numb, being unable to focus and feelings of pointllessness or hopelessness sometimes affects motivation to do daily routines.

LOW SELF-ESTEEM can appear as self-doubt or being over critical about yourself.  Counselling can help you to explore feelings of not being good enough and see yourself in a more positive light.

ANXIETY can be helpful but can also become overwhelming.  It can prevent us from doing the things we want to do.  Anxiety can be triggered by lots of different situations and therapy can you to manage your feelings better.

WORK STRESS caused by bullying, job loss and lack of confidence is a common topic.  Discussing your issues with work in therapy can help you to develop your assertiveness and improve work/life balance.
